Getting set up is straightforward.
How does Cloudflare work?
Your website traffic passes through Cloudflare's global network before it reaches the hosting server. Cloudflare can serve cached content closer to the visitor, block unwanted requests and absorb denial-of-service attacks while legitimate traffic continues to the website.
Can I keep my current domain and hosting?
Yes. The domain can remain with its current registrar and the website can remain on its current hosting. The main setup change is normally to make Cloudflare authoritative for DNS and then confirm that the website and email records are correct.
Where can I learn more about using Cloudflare?
The easiest way to learn how to use Cloudflare is to sign up, which takes less than five minutes. Start with the Free plan, connect your first domain and discover the available controls from your Silurian Workspace.
When is my billing date?
The order shows the first service period and renewal date before payment. A monthly plan renews each month on its recorded renewal date; an annual plan is charged for the full year and renews once a year. Your Workspace shows the current subscription period and next renewal.
What happens when I upgrade?
If you currently have a paid plan (e.g. Pro) for one of your domains and upgrade to a higher priced plan (e.g. Business), the following happens:
- You will be debited the hourly pro-rata cost of the Business plan until the end of the billing cycle.
- You will be credited the hourly pro-rata cost of the Pro plan until the end of the billing cycle.
- At the beginning of the next billing cycle, you will be charged for the full cost of the Business plan.
- You will receive an invoice upon successful payment of the upgrade.
